Statistician (Maternity replacement)
Job Purpose:
The main purpose of the role is:
* Deliver scientific excellence in statistical expertise to non-clinical/preclinical vaccine development ensuring decision-making takes place within the parameters set by logical and quantitative scientific inference.
* Delivers statistical expertise in alignment with project objectives.
* Contributes to the continuous development of the statistical expertise and improvement of the quality and compliance of the support given by the team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure that appropriate and efficient study designs are used in alignment with project objectives.
* Coordinate transversally within the team, the statistical planning of different deliverables expected from Research Statistics in alignment with the project development plan.
* Ensure that scientific questions for research objectives are defined clearly and that data collection, statistical methods and analyses are optimally designed to provide statistical evidence to answer those questions.
* Shares examples of statistical contributions at internal technical discussions/forums
* Establish/implement solution for standardization within the team and at business partner level.
* Provide insight on the risk associate to decision.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications & Skills:
* Has theoretical and practical knowledge typical of at least MSc in Statistics and/or a combination of education and experience.
* Maintains awareness of current statistical literature and researches new techniques
* Demonstrates strong statistical expertise with a good understanding of design of experiments and inference methodologies
* Supports design, analysis and interpretation, uses a wide range of statistical approaches and/or applicable software to explore options (e.g. simulation, Bayesian methods, interim analysis strategies)
* Delivers presentations with clarity in internal forums and/or external professional industry meetings
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
* Demonstrated effectiveness in both oral and written communications, able to express ideas and incorporate feedback to produce a completed quality deliverable.
* Able to explain technical approaches to peers and non-technical colleagues/settings.
* Uses networking skills to collaborate with peers or other quantitative groups.
