Are you a proven BusinessChange Leader, who thrives in a changing, complex environment and is motivated by delivering the best for your customers and colleagues?

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

About the role

We are the International Education group, part of Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a part of the University of Cambridge. We work with schools, governments and partners worldwide to increase the positive impact of education on individuals and societies.

We help schools build education programmes that shape learners' knowledge, understanding and skills, so they can thrive and face the opportunities and challenges ahead with confidence.

Working with governments and partners, we bring deep expertise in educational transformation to help develop resilient, inclusive education systems that make an impact far beyond the classroom.

Together, we shape education for a changing world.

This role sits in the Transformation Team, a vital part within the International Education group. The purpose of our team is to shape and manage both technical and non-technical projects and change for International Education, understanding the complexity of our systems, processes, products and customers.

Our Senior Business Change Leaders think creatively to find better ways of doing things, identifying and driving opportunities for improvement which are underpinned by evidence from business teams. This role is responsible for leading, planning, designing, documenting, and managing change projects. Through the creation and implementation of change management strategies and plans, you will build organisational capability and maximise employee adoption and the impact of your allocated projects and programmes.

Examples of the types of projects our team lead include:

  • Launching new products into new markets
  • Developing technical solutions to business problems
  • Reviewing our portfolio of products
  • Upgrades or replacements of technical systems
  • Process improvements

About you

We are looking for an experienced Business Change Leader who can evidence extensive successful delivery of change in complex organisations. You will use your skills in programme, project and change management, business analysis and improvement skills to deliver change for International Education.

As our next Senior Business Change Leader, you possess:

  • A thorough understanding of change and project management approaches and methodologies. We would expect to see a qualification in Project and/or Change Management (or equivalent experience) as well as extensive on-the-job experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and be comfortable working with and presenting to board level stakeholders.
  • Confident leadership skills with creative problem-solving abilities to constructively challenge assumptions to deliver the best outcome for our customers (both internal and external).
  • A logical and analytical approach to solving business problems. Our work is often initially ambiguous, and we expect Senior Business Change Leaders to be able to work with stakeholders to understand and articulate the business problem and assess options and impacts.
  • An ability to work independently as well as being a team player.
  • An adaptable and flexible approach.
  • An ability to work in a complex, changing environment. Through your experiences of managing and leading people through change, you will have high levels of change agility and adapt well when faced with complexity and ambiguity.

Ideal requirements:

  • Experience of working in both agile and waterfall project delivery teams
  • Experience working on both technical and non-technical change projects

If you would like to know more about this opportunity and what will make you successful, please see the full job description attached to the bottom of this vacancy on our careers site.
