Do you have a passion for continuously improving marketing performance? Are you a self-starter looking for an exciting new challenge? This could be your next career move…

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

About the role

We're looking for a skilled Marketing Manager who enjoys creating and optimizing campaigns that align with business goals. You'll have the unique opportunity to join a small but high performing ‘start-up' team focused on delivering new Direct to Learner (D2L) propositions. Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to drive traffic, increase conversion rates and maximise ROI.
  • Establish, measure and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Manage tracking and reporting on campaign and creative performance to uncover growth and optimisation opportunities.
  • Rigorously test hypotheses and use data to drive decisions, including implementing the necessary analytical frameworks and reporting mechanisms to measure and drive success.
  • Work closely with product teams to help define, develop, test and launch new products.

About you

You are a qualified marketer with at least five years' hands-on experience of managing integrated, direct-to-consumer marketing campaigns, and test & learn is your mantra. You have proven project management skills and can work to tight timescales and on multiple activities at once.

  • You have a degree or professional qualification in Marketing.
  • You have at least five years' hands-on experience creating and delivering marketing campaigns across digital channels, including social (paid and organic), email, search and more, ideally in the direct-to-consumer space.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, start-up environment – you can easily alternate between being strategic and tactical depending on the situation.
  • You have experience in growth marketing and user acquisition.
  • You're a confident user of HubSpot or similar CRM and understand how to use CRM strategies to optimise customer journeys for ecommerce or subscription products.
  • You have a deep understanding of using customer data for segmentation across platforms.
  • You're a self-starter with a proactive mindset and ability to work well both independently and in a team.
  • You have worked with marketing agencies but ideally also have skills to create assets yourself (using tools such as Canva, CapCut etc).
  • You're highly numerate with strong analytical skills and confidence in reporting.
  • You're highly organised and detail-oriented with the ability to adapt as priorities change and new opportunities are explored.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with partners, third parties and internal teams.

If you would like to know more about this opportunity and what will make you successful, please see the full job description attached to the bottom of this vacancy on our careers site.
