Posting Title: Bioassays for Automation Development Intern

Education required: Master's Degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Bio-Engineer or equivalent.
Other requirements:
Basic requirements:
* Knowledge of ELISA method, as well as interest in vaccine development and immunology constitutes a plus.
* Good Computer skills including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software
* Familiarity with statistical analysis and design of experiments is beneficial.
* Fluent in Italian and English

What will you do?
Context
(COMPANY NAME) vaccines main goal is to develop innovative vaccines to protect people from serious disease. As part of (COMPANY NAME) Bacterial Scientific Area, the laboratory of Bioassay for Development and Automation evaluates the immune response induced by vaccine candidates both at preclinical and early clinical level, by using and developing novel High-Throughput immunoassays. The intern will be part of a team of scientists, will develop binding and functional assays, executing scientific experiments and will contributes to the conception, design, and interpretation of scientific data in support of research projects.
Project description
The intern will acquire knowledge of various serological techniques, which will be used to characterize the immune response induced by vaccine candidates. Activities will both support the advancement of vaccine projects, as well as the discovery pipeline. The work will be focused on the determination of antibodies level in animal sera, as well as in the evaluation of their functionality.
Competencies the intern will develop thanks to the internship experience:
* Anti-antigen specific ELISA / Luminex development using novel High-Throughput systems methodology
* Assays development to evaluate the quantity and the functionality of vaccine induced antibodies
* Non-technical: ability to follow working instructions and procedures; to work with the team to ensure the maintenance of equipment and reagents in compliance with (COMPANY NAME) and EHS requirements; development of problem-solving and time-management skills.
