Job Title:Distribution Assistant

Salary: £22,454

Location: DC20 Papworth Everard, Cambridge.

Contract: Fixed Term Contract until 31st December 2024

 

We have an opportunity to join Group Print and Operations as a Distribution Assistant, where you will play a vital role in ensuring our examination material reaches our learners all over the world.

About the role 

Have you ever thought about what happens once an exam paper is created and finalised? You might be surprised at how complex it is. At Group Print and Operations, each year we securely print over half a billion A4 sides of question papers. With our partners, we safely deliver them to millions of learns, in thousands of schools, spread over 170 different countries. As a Distribution Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring our learners receive their examination material on time, that it is processed accurately and that their certificates are sent out securely. This role is based within the Group Collations department.

Tasks will vary depending on what team you are working in, and you will have the opportunity to gain experience in different areas during busy periods. These include:

  • Scanning and recording examination material in accordance with set procedures, ensuring that material is always kept safe and confidential.
  • Proof checking exam papers to ensure no marks have been missed.
  • Maintain benchmarks and collect relevant planning data as required.
  • Act responsibly and comply with Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies, whilst ensuring our temporary colleagues are fully trained and supported.

 

This is a varied role, where you will complete tasks that could be desk-based or involve walking/standing for long periods at a time.

This role 35 hours per week and different work patterns available.
This role may require shift work for part of the year, depending on organisational need. The standard working hours are 7.00am – 2.30pm Monday – Thursday. Friday hours are 6am-12pm. Shift times are a rotation of early shift (6am – 1.30pm) and late shift (1.45pm – 9.15pm) Monday – Friday (early finishes on both shifts on Friday's) and you will receive a shift premium of 20%.

You will have good computer, numeracy, and literacy skills, and have a willingness to learn new skills.
