Carrier Account Manager
As a Carrier Account Manager, you will expertly manage a key customer account, focusing on end-to-end truckload (TL) logistics. The role encompasses freight market analysis, carrier sourcing and negotiation, and comprehensive load management using the customer's systems. Ideal for a seasoned freight brokerage professional, this position offers a base salary plus commission, with initial training in New Jersey.

Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for the dedicated account, ensuring all freight operations are conducted smoothly and efficiently.
- Analyze the freight market to provide strategic guidance and competitive rates, focusing on truckload (TL) logistics to optimize cost and service.
- Source and negotiate with TL carriers to secure capacity, aiming to drive down costs and enhance profit margins for both the account and the company.
- Utilize the customer's system to receive, process, and manage load tenders, ensuring accurate booking and appointment scheduling in coordination with carriers.
- Oversee the end-to-end management of loads, from booking to delivery, including invoicing, and closing out completed loads to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition.
- Continuously seek opportunities to grow the account by providing exceptional service and identifying potential new lanes or volume increases.
- Train and become proficient in using both the customer’s systems and our client’s internal CRM/TMS software to ensure accurate and efficient operational flow.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and the customer, fostering communication and collaboration to meet and exceed operational targets.
- Analyze and report on account performance, identifying trends, opportunities for improvement, and strategies for growth.
- Coordinate with various internal departments, including sales, operations, billing, and carrier sales, to ensure a cohesive approach to account management.
- Conduct regular reviews of accessorial fees and other cost factors to minimize unexpected expenses and improve the profitability of the account.
- Stay informed of industry trends and regulations to provide informed market guidance and ensure compliance in all operations.
- High school diploma or a GED required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years with a Freight Broker.
- 2-3 years of sales and/or purchasing/negotiation experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Experience with load boards is required.
- Customer service experience required.
