Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- At least 5 years of Postdoctoral experiences in the area of Solar Energy / Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.
- PhD in Physics / Chemistry / Material Sciences or related discipline from reputable University
- Experience as a group leader in international group.
- Independent research career in the above two fields.
- Outstanding experience in analytical instruments and analytical methods.
- Skills in writing research papers, proof reading and editing of manuscripts.
- Skills in funds raising and research proposals writing.
- Strong English language skills.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of NMSRC.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will work in the field of Solar Energy and photovoltaic systems. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in Physics/Material Sciences with a specialization in Solar Energy / Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems from a recognized university. Research experience in the development and testing of innovative materials for commercial solar panels and associated applications is required. Experience with large-scale solar panels from research or industry, as well as experience with lead-acid batteries and related systems, is a plus. The candidate is expected to instruct students in the fundamental processes of Solar Energy and solar photovoltaic (PV) systems at the bachelor's or master's level. The candidate selected for the position must be able to conduct R&D using the existing Photovoltaic Cell Testing Light Source System, PMA2100 Data Logging Radiometer, and PMA2144 Global Class II Pyranometer (Solar Light). Furthermore, the candidate must be capable of R&D as well as operating the existing CS6P Quartech 3 kW Photovoltaic Panel, with weather monitoring station (Canadian Solar), Sealed Lead Acid Battery Unit (Sonnenschein Solar), and Sunbird 1000 Solar Inverter (Neowatt). The candidate will also be responsible for the installation, setup, and operation of various other Solar Energy-related equipment in the laboratory.
