We are now looking for a Senior Research Scientist to join our Cybersecurity research team. 

As a Senior Research Scientist, you have a role in performing cutting edge research on the AI application to cybersecurity and/or on safeguarding the security of AI systems. In this position, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the definition of the long-term roadmap for AI & cybersecurity research and to contribute to its execution. 

Our team works on applications of AI to solve cybersecurity problems, the security of AI systems, cybersecurity testing and on the security of future networks (e.g., 6G). It is a main contributor to VTT’s mission for building digital trust in society. 

As a Senior Research Scientist, you will: 

• Perform and lead research on AI & cybersecurity. 
• Actively contribute to our strategy on AI & cybersecurity research 
• Support knowledge building in the team. 
• Continuously acquire knowledge and learn new skills 
• Participate in research projects, commercial and public, on both a national and international level. 

Who we are looking for: 

• You have a PhD degree in machine learning, cybersecurity, computer science, mathematics or another relevant field. 
• You have a track record of research publications in machine learning, cybersecurity, or other relevant publication venues. 
• You have practical hands-on experience in applying machine learning to solve cybersecurity challenges (or other types of challenges). 
• You have critical thinking and an adversarial thinking mindset. 
• You have good scientific writing and presentation skills.
