Senior Logistics Accountant

Senior Logistics Accountant
Our client is looking to add a Senior Accountant to their growing team. This position will be responsible for assisting customer and carriers with accounting billing and payment questions as well as other duties assigned that are outlined below.

Responsibilities:

• Process and review all things A/R, A/P, and collections. Ensure all items process and resolve discrepancies in our client’s system (McLeod) with customers and third parties that are part of the process.
• Pull requested reports for audit, reconciling, and those requested for leadership review.
• Review and resolve short payments reported.
• Post and review Comdata wires.
• Must have a good understanding of GAAP.
• Upload new rates into the McLeod software system.
• Audit items in settlement for Void.
• Send remits to carriers.
• Create a release of banking files for Direct deposit.
• Obtain credit Duns reports for new carriers.
• Complete months-end close responsibilities for Assistant Controller.
• Back up for A/P, A/R coordinator/specialist.
• Work with the inside customers (other departments within the company) and outside customers and provide.
• Ensure all things accounting are processed in an automated manner through McLeod.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business required.
• 1 – 3 years McLeod experience preferred.
• Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Willing to learn new/ different ways of accomplishing tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Pay attention to details.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Outstanding customer service skills (Internal and External) required.
