This company is the new brokerage arm of an established railcar logistics business.
Sales & Operations Brokerage Manager
Our client is seeking a business-savvy, driven Sales & Operations Brokerage Manager to “get in on the ground floor” and help the company grow within the Brokerage space and promote this new service offering. To begin, this individual will be responsible for managing the sales cycle end-to-end, from hunting for and securing new business opportunities to ensuring smooth transport and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate should be a seasoned professional with experience and proven success in brokerage sales and operations. This role has the potential to evolve into a leadership position as the brokerage business grows.

Responsibilities:
  • Build out the brokerage division through ambitious sales tactics and provide operational support to provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Prospect for and uncover new customers for the company’s brokerage.
  • Establish strong, long-lasting relationships with new customers, and maintain and nurture relationships with existing clients.
  • Identify customer pain points and offer logistics solutions to add value to their business.
  • Negotiate rates with customers to fit their needs and drive profitability for the company.
  • Monitor current transportation movements and manage the process from pick-up to delivery.
  • Assist with training back-office employees in brokerage operations and functions to ensure strong operational support as the business grows.
  • Skillfully navigate client questions and concerns, serving as the main point of contact and staying in constant communication via phone, email, or in-person meetings.
  • Eventually, this role will contribute to hiring initiatives and potentially grow into a leadership role managing direct reports.

Experience:
  • 3-5+ years’ of related industry sales and operations experience.
  • Subject matter expert in the 3PL/brokerage space.
  • Driven and self-motivated individual with a sales hunter mentality.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills - oral, written, and over the phone.
  • Polished and professional individual who is a fierce negotiator and a natural leader.
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.

This position offers a competitive base salary.
