Job Title: Power Platform Developer

Salary:  £47,800 - £63,900

Location: Cambridge/Hybrid

Contract: Permanent/Full-time

About the role 

This role is based within Operational Excellence – a cross-functional team within English Assessment Operations, that enables the successful delivery and implementation of process and program changes to capitalise on innovation and customer satisfaction with our catalogue of prestigious qualifications.

As a Power Platform Developer, you will be responsible for creating reporting resources that provide effective decision making and data insight capabilities for key stakeholders. You will deliver solutions though utilisation of tools such as Power Automate, PowerApps, SharePoint and other M365 applications while developing a data infrastructure that promotes consistent reporting.

Main accountabilities include but not limited to:

  • Responsibility for the timely delivery and accuracy of core operational reports related to Cambridge English Qualifications and other requested technology solutions for strategic and operational needs
  • Developing and documenting the infrastructure to access the Enterprise Data Platform (Data Lake) to ensure Power BI users can access the data in a structured way
  • Reviewing the existing suite of Power BI reports and ensuring that they adhere to best practice data architecture
  • Identifying any data inconsistencies and working with our Business Technology Services and English Assessment Operations teams to correct these to ensure the integrity of the data

 

About you

You are a highly motivated individual who adds value, clarity, and energy to contribute to the successful delivery of initiatives. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills when collaborating with colleagues at all levels, are willing to make decisions about the best way to support a project and make suggestions for how to achieve our goals. You can think strategically and can challenge datato ensure accuracy and integrity of reports. You will also be keen to mentor and support the continuous development of other members of the team.

To be a successful member of English Operational Excellence Team, we are looking for someone who:

  • Possesses higher knowledge of programming languages such as SQL / DAX / PLSQL / IronPython / M Query)
  • Has an advanced proficiency with Data Visualisation tools and techniques (ex. Power BI, PowerApps)
  • Microsoft Certification - Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst / Power BI Data Analyst Associate / Power Platform App Maker / Power Platform App Maker Associate / SQL Certification
  • Strong knowledge of distributed file systems, scalable data stores, distributed computing and related technologies (e.g. Hadoop, JSON, APIs) as well as data warehouse design and architecture
  • Able to work with a wide range of staff, can communicate technical information clearly to specialists and non-specialists and keeps an open-minded approach to problem solving
  • Has excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently or collaboratively as required to meet deadlines
