General Summary:

  • Review, advise, lead and ensure completion of the corporation’s tax obligations in accordance with state, federal and international laws leveraging specific International Tax knowledge and technological advances.  
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual tax provisions for U.S. tax impacts of foreign operations, including current and deferred tax reporting pursuant to ASC 740. 
  • Assist with the U.S. tax compliance requirements of foreign operations.

Job Description:
A very qualified candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter who embraces an up-tempo work environment and can effectively execute the following job responsibilities when challenged with an ever-evolving set of priorities and circumstances.
  • Review the quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and disclosures for nonUS operations pursuant to USGAAP accounting principles as determined under ASC 740.
    • Legal entity current and deferred tax reporting based on forecast and actual financial results.
    • Legal entity effective tax rate management.
    • Accounting for uncertain tax positions (UTP’s)
  • Develop an open dialogue with local jurisdictional and regional finance employees located in each of FedEx Express’ three regions; The Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA).
  • Evaluate, design and implement tax process improvements under the supervision of the Tax Manager to streamline and rationalize manually intensive tax processes by utilizing integrated financial, operational, and information systems.
  • Prepare or update tax technical summary memorandums for discussion with management and external stakeholders.
  • Research and model impacts of new tax legislation for nonUS jurisdictions and corporate planning initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to department policies regarding management and update of work product which is consistent with required SOX 404 control objectives.

Skills/Knowledge Considered a Plus:
  • Knowledge of CORPTAX, Oracle Cloud, Oracle Essbase, Alteryx and OneSource DATAFLOW
  • Ability to lead complex tax projects while ensuring timely and accurate results
  • Experience with SEC reporting
  • Knowledge of SOX 404 Control process
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, technical, Tax Accounting and research skills needed
  • CPA or advanced degree in Accounting or Taxation would be a plus

Work Location:
  • Desired location for this position would be Collierville, TN however, this position may be located anywhere within the United States.
  • Relocation assistance is available.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance or related discipline. 
  • Five (5) years of directly related experience within a tax/financial discipline. 
  • Knowledge of large service or business operations required.

Salary Range Estimate: Monthly Salary: $8,528.00 - $15,184.00. This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, your work location, how many years of experience you have, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
