Flatbed Dispatcher

Flatbed Dispatcher
Our client is adding a Dispatcher to their expanding team. They are looking for an experienced Dispatcher to lead a new fleet and grow the domestic trucking business.
Job Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:

• Properly follow all Company, DOT, and OSHA safety procedures.
• Improve truck utilization through backhauls and managing hours of service.
• Handle daily fleet operations, driver questions, and maintenance issues.
• Effectively plan routes for drivers to ensure efficient, timely service to customers.
• Review and process paperwork daily; strong data entry and electronic filing skills.
• Review driver’s daily log sheet ensuring compliance with hours of service and accuracy.
• Dispatcher reviews and maintains daily logs on file for 6 months for each driver.
• Dispatcher ensures daily log is also filed for off-duty days, weekends, holidays, and vacations.
• Review driver’s daily inspection reports.
• Dispatcher will address service issues in a timely manner.
• Dispatcher will arrange preventative maintenance services accordingly.
• Assist drivers with issues that may arise, making the decision to call management or customers.
• Dispatcher keeps daily inspection reports on file.
• Review driver trip reports for accuracy and address discrepancies.
• Maintain reports, on-time data entry, payroll, etc.
• Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports, as requested by upper management.
• Interaction with customers as necessary ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Schedule overflow loads with 3rd party carriers; freight brokering skills desired.
• Strong computer skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform general office administrative duties and other duties as
  assigned by the manager.

Experience:

• 3-5+ years of OTR Interstate driver dispatch experience
• Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations including Hours of Service regulations
• Schedule overflow loads with 3rd party carriers; freight brokering skills required.
• Knowledge of flatbed trucking rates
• Experienced with transportation and supply chain operations and processes.
• Experience in working with computerized truck dispatch software.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently
• Excellent people (driver management) skills
• High proficiency in Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experienced in using routing and load-optimizing software.
• Excellent phone skills and customer service
