We are looking for an Performance Test Lead to join an established testing & QA team to provide hands-on expertise & thought leadership in the practical use of Performance Testing and Performance Test tools. 

The successful candidate should be knowledgeable and have hands-on experience in the application of Performance Testing across new and legacy applications.  They should be comfortable in collaborating across all levels of stakeholder and provide insight into the planning & execution of Performance Test activities to validate that technical solutions are fit for purpose and deliver to requirements and user stories.

What will you do in this role? 

 

Working under the supervision of the QA Test Manager in the UK, you will:  

 

  • Lead Performance Testing within an established test team creating repeatable processes to suit the needs of the projects within business constraints. 
  • Provide hands-on Performance Test creation & execution, provide leadership and training to other team members to strengthen our internal capability. 
  • Peer review requirements presented in differing formats, interpret them and represent them in Performance Test packs following a risk-based approach. 
  • Conduct testing to improve performance, scale & velocity, understand it's appropriateness and any limitations. 
  • Produce high quality test documentation (Test Plans, Specifications and Closure reports) for review and approval by test management and client. 
  • Supervise and contribute to the design and production of appropriate test cases and test data for each aspect of testing to enable full evaluation of the overall performance of the solution being delivered. 

 

What makes you an ideal candidate for this position? 

 

You will be ideal for this role if you are willing to work Monday to Friday 07:00 – 15:00 UK Time (3pm to 11pm PH Time). However, there will be a need on occasions to work outside these hours to support incidents, staffing issues and support releases into production.  This could include weekend working, although this is rare.  The role shall involve working with our UK and outsourced teams that work outside of PH hours. It is expected that flexibility and appreciation of the constraints this may place on communications should be acknowledged.  

 

In addition, having the following experience, knowledge or expertise would give you an advantage:  

 

  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent real-life experience (essential) 
  • At least 3 years Performance Testing experience in a formal testing environment and at least 1 year experience as team lead 
  • Ability to deliver the full range of Test Lead skill, estimation, planning, test preparation, execution and closure. 
  • Experience in using JIRA and qTest for requirements, testing and defect tracking. 
  • Experience in standard industry-wide Performance Testing Tools, e.g. JMeter, Blazemeter, Neoload. 
  • Excellent client facing skills. 
  • Capable of understanding technical documentation to develop appropriate tests, data and expected results. 
  • Capable of coaching testers in solution being delivered and the Performance Test approach. 
  • Keep abreast of new technologies, test tools and techniques and have a proactive approach to the adoption of new tools and ways of working. 
  • Sets a high performance and quality standard for others to follow.
