Director of Asset Operations
The Direct of Asset Operations will be reporting to the President for a 100% employee owned (ESOP), premier OTR trucking, logistics, and warehousing service provider that has been in business for over 60 years. With $160 million dollars in revenue, the company has 130 trucks, 575 trailers, nearly 1.2 million square feet of dry warehouse and distribution space, and a freight brokerage that generates more than 65% of their transportation revenue. They operate from warehouses and terminals in 5 states (Maine, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida).

Responsibilities:

• Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the truckload segment working with numerous direct and indirect employees including Fleet Managers, Planners, and Customer Service Responsibility is to direct the scheduling of labor and equipment to ensure the most economical utilization of our client’s trucking resources.
• Provide exceptional execution of transportation services to our client’s customers, ensuring compliance with all regulatory or contractual issues relating to their customer base.
• Manage all costs across the segment, i.e. operating expenses, repair and maintenance costs, driver wages, and fuel expenses.
• Participate in initiatives and partner with external or internal customers to improve systems and processes across the segment and company.
• Ensure safety of our client’s employees and the motoring public, work with the Safety Director and staff to develop, and manage policies and programs consistent with their values and the law.

Experience:

• 10 years Truckload Operations Leadership required.
• Fleet Management, Customer Service, and Load Planning CSA, DOT, HOS, ELD, EPA, FMCSA & OSHA knowledge.
• Establishing standard operating procedures, KPl's and metrics
• Driver recruiting and retention strategies.
• P&L and budgeting ($30 million)
• Industry Related Software knowledge
• Computer literate: Microsoft Office Suite
• Expertise in carrier growth
• Good communicator (verbal, written and listening) at all levels.
• Coaching, Mentoring, and Leadership abilities
• Collaborates with all levels (i.e. drivers, managers, executives) Demonstration of the difference between management and leadership.
