Webuild is looking for a junior Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist, who will join the Design Services team.
The opportunity is about a 1 year fixed-term contract with our headquarter in Milan, followed by an assignment to one of our projects in Italy or around the world.
Main responsibilities:
- Reviewing design reports and drawings for our "Design & Build" projects
- Planning, supervising and interpreting ground investigations
- Analyzing excavations, foundations, retaining structures, tunnels and other underground works
- Site visits and supervision of construction works
- Writing reports
The ideal candidate would have:
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology
- 1 to 3 years of professional experience in the fields of engineering geology and rock engineering, in particular:
- Planning, supervision and interpretation of ground investigations, including laboratory testing and geophysical surveys
- Design of excavations in rock and their stabilization measures
- Familiarity with rock engineering software (e.g. Rocdata, DIPS, Unwedge)
- Field experience in structural geological mapping and the use of rock mass classification systems
- Previous field experience in Tunnelling or underground works will be considered a plus
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Availability to relocate in Italy and abroad
- Ability to adapt to different working conditions, team working, problem solving
