As Controller, you are driven by reconciling and resolving AR issues. You have intimate experience with freight invoice collections. You know most of the Industry’s TMS systems and SaaS products. You have a client-first worldview, and understand the value of strong relationships with clients and shipper/payees. You have the experience, leadership qualities and communication skills to create great systems and build great collections teams. You value solutions orientation above all else, and can execute best practices. You can quickly identify and solve root causes creating chronic and singular payment issues. You have the emotional intelligence to know what to say, how to say it, and when to say it. You understand the thesis of blockchain technology, and believe faster/cheaper payments is the future of invoice settlement. Reporting directly to the CEO, CFO and COO, you see a path to the c-suite.
Job Type: Full-time/work from home
Responsibilities:
- Manage and report weekly to the c-suite on the entire portfolio of client accounts via accounting and financial resolution software (propose solution strategies as needed).
- Create and improve systems for the collections teams – execute on industry standard KPIs.
- Ability to conduct detailed accounting and research to resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain excellent client relations through timely, professional and accurate communications.
Experience:
- 2 years (minimum) in collections and accounting, specific to the transportation industry
- Associates or Bachelors degree required; graduate degree is a +
- Extensive experience in accounting and financial resolution software
- Strong independent decision-making skills and solutions orientation
- Exceptional communications, interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- Conflict resolution skill set, always balancing advocacy with professionalism
- Desire to solve, lead and build systems and teams – and advance into executive leadership
- U.S. citizenship, domiciled in the lower forty-eight states
