You will be part of Project Sourcing team in European Operational Center working for Process Industries Switzerland within ABB's Process Automation business area. Process Industries is a division that delivers complete electrification and automation solutions, industry-specific products and lifecycle services to customers in Pulp & Paper, Mining, Gearless Mill Drives (GMDs), Hoists, Metals, Growth Industries such as Cement, Food & Beverage, Data Center Automation, High Power Rectifiers, and Batteries.The business’ added value is deep industry expertise coupled with the ability to integrate both electrical and automation, resulting in faster start-up times, increased plant productivity and reduced overall capex and opex spend for customers. As a Category Manager for PAPI, Business Line Growth Industries, you will be responsible for developing, planning, and implementing Procurement strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for an assigned category or group of categories. Ensure execution in accordance with Company, Procurement and Supply Base Management instructions and procedures.Main challenge on this position is to find the right operational balance between requirements coming from sales organization and strategic procurement tasks. We expect you will be able to create and set up completely new strategy and directives for the whole category and push it through the organization.

Your responsibilities
- Development and implementing of sourcing strategies for specific categories
- Negotiation of agreements with main suppliers, renews pricelists, terms, and conditions
- Run benchmark studies for the category and for specific sourcing initiatives (RFQ Process, Pricing, Leadtime, Delivery terms, Payment conditions)
- Support regional/global sourcing initiatives within a defined set of categories, working closely with key stakeholders to implement regional category strategies
- Selection of stockkeeping items, restocking rules and MRP, inventory control
- Responsibility & control of Inforecord. ERP data Management (SAP)
- On-boards new suppliers in close collaboration with the company stakeholders and monitor the performance of our current suppliers
- Contribute to and participate in setting and implementing budget and targets within the framework
- Ensure the Category sourcing performance targets are achieved
Your background
- University education (technical field is an advantage)
- Experience as a strategic buyer or category buyer in the technical field
- Experience with stock management is a plus
- English language on the communicative level (daily written and oral communication, minimum B2)
- Be very pro-active in communication with suppliers and customers (search and negotiation)
- Ability to communicate with huge number of people on various positions in various locations
- Ability to manage complex tasks with a lot of unknown variables during project tender phase
- Ability to be self-managed
- Understanding the processes and organization of multinational companies
- Experience in MS Office – Excel (orientation in pivot tables, etc.) & Power Point
- Experience in SAP is beneficial
