Business Excellence Associate Corporate Affairs, in direct report to the Associate VP Corporate Affairs & PA, support the development and the strengthening of the management systems and processes of CA & PA organization to improve performance and create value for internal and external stakeholders. In addition, he/she supports the organizational activities of the function, the implementation of corporate communication and external engagement strategies to enhance the organization's image e positioning with key external stakeholders, through the coordination of the Associate VP CA&PA activities. He/she supports the development of materials and position papers to support internal and external institutional engagement.

The role requires an understanding of business needs and priorities, cross-functional mindset, writing-communication skills, both in Italian and English, and supports the raising of the company's profile working with the different components of CA&PA function.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and the strengthening of the management systems and processes of CA & PA organization
  • Support the improvement of performance of CA&PA team and create value for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the organization and coordination of CA&PA team functions and activities 
  • Help oversee projects of high importance of Affiliate working cross-funcionally
  • Participate in the construction of key CA network, working closely to the Ass VP, to position the brand Lilly in the Italian and CEE market
  • Ensure positive coverage of Lilly's ambition to be a leader in the marketplace leveraging multiple channels such as medical, industry press, and social media, working closely with communication team (both internal and external)
  • Support evolution of compliance procedures through simplification and effectiveness
  • Co-develop and identify the Affiliate's strategies for responding in the event of a crisis. Provide real-time support and guidance to the Associate VP on crisis/issues management
  • Support the VP and multiple level of the company on the external institutional positioning with the government affairs team
  • Support institutional engagement in collaboration with PRA, Medical and Marketing Team
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment with other departments within the affiliate
  • Coordinate the relations between Italian CA function with other countries and IBU CA e GA management team

Basic Requirements: 

  • Degree in Law, Political Science or Institutional Relations
  • Previous experience in Institutional bodies or at political level and in companies in National Public/Government Affairs roles or in comms & PA departments of pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of the Italian political-institutional set-up and the national academic and university ecosystem
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both written and oral
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Native Italian speaker
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, influencing and negotiation skills, coupled with ability to build relationships, influence, drive execution of organizational priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in company cross-functional teams and multicultural enviroment.
  • Solution oriented mindset;
  • Deep confidentiality, diplomacy, intuition to manage confidential dossiers/information.
  • Experience, even limited, in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience, including limited experience, in academia.
  • Keen to travel, work independently, plan own time and match strict deadlines.
