Job Title: Assessment Manager, Occupational English Test
Salary: £33,300 - £43,400

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assessment Manager to join us within the Occupational English Test team. As Assessment Manager you will use your flair for innovative and forward-thinking approaches to manage the production of high-quality assessment content and development of new assessment products.

About the role
Assessment Managers in the Occupational English Test team are responsible for managing the production of test content and question papers and are involved in a wide range of assessment processes from test design to analysing marking and results. The role is an excellent opportunity for experienced ESOL/EFL professionals with a keen interest in assessment.
As Assessment Manager, you will be:
- managing teams of test material writers, and the editing and proofreading of test materials.
- developing and updating key documentation.
- carrying out assessment-related administrative responsibilities.
- contributing to increases in efficiency and effectiveness and initiating and/or contributing to research.
- participating in exam reviews and in the development of new testing services including automated digital assessment products.
About you
As our next Assessment Manager, you will have good interpersonal and people management skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- recognised entry level EFL/ESOL teaching qualification (Cambridge CELTA or equivalent) (this may be substituted by significant directly relevant experience in working for an exam board and on exam processing).
- experience of EFL/ESOL teaching and/or assessment experience (some ideally carried out overseas), including experience in preparing candidates for Cambridge English exams (this may be substituted by significant directly relevant experience in working for an exam board: on exam processing and on the production of Cambridge English exams).
- experience of materials production and/or evaluation.
- an interest in educational assessment and some involvement in assessment in previous employments.
- sound organisational, administrative, prioritising and planning skills.
- ability to evaluate texts, exam questions and other material as suitable for use.
- excellent attention to detail, including proofreading skills.
- flexibility and adaptability.
The following are desirable for this role:
- an interest in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) particularly English for healthcare professionals.
- good presentation skills – possesses the skills to be an effective and credible presenter at conferences and other events.
- Master's degree in relevant field.
- experience of acting as a Cambridge English examiner (speaking or writing tests).
- experience of working in a complex and busy office environment.
- administrative experience.
