We are seeking an Agile Delivery Lead to join IDS where you will be a change champion and be responsible to ensure the line management of business systems analysts and will coach and train matrix teams across informatics and IT and scientific groups to adopt agile principles and ways of working.

About the role:

You will be in charge to help programs and teams to deliver value efficiently and frequently to our customers through Agile ways of working for our organisation's needs. You will take a lead to identify and inform organisational strategic improvements and blockers and escalate them to resolve in a timely manner.

The Agile Change Delivery team is responsible for the successful delivery of large and complex programmes that support outsourced and bundled operational services to scientific programmes across, via multi-disciplinary, highly skilled teams, applying agile best practices that adapt to organisation needs. The team is a combination of Programme and project managers, Agile Coaching Services, Business Systems Analysts and Technical experts to help plan, collaborate and deliver.

You and your team will advocate and adopt a set of common values as depicted below:

About you:

You will ensure appropriate agile methods are being adopted and delivery is consistently effective across all teams. You will identify gaps and finding resolutions and working with relevant stakeholders to provide solutions is key.  You will manage risks and issues in a timely manner and escalate issues as necessary while ensuring appropriate changes to the way we identify and deliver work.

Essential Technical skills:

  • IT or Project/Program Management Experience in a multidisciplinary context
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycles
  • Strong Agile mindset
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering in Agile in hybrid environments
  • Successful track record of leading tangible improvements, or agile/scaled agile transformations
  • Experience in backlog management and collaborative tools to support agile ways of working (JIRA, Confluence, GIT…)
  • Knowledge of complex business process re-engineering, and requirements gathering approaches
  • Clear understanding of technology and information management systems
  • Demonstrates ability to capture requirements using various approaches and tools e.g. context diagrams/mind maps/stakeholder analysis/process mapping/scenario modelling/business case production/entity relationship diagrams

  • Excellent communication skills, self-driven, ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic-customer-focused environment
  • Strategic thinking, pragmatic, and ability to see the ‘bigger picture’      
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, planning skills, critical thinking, ambiguity tolerance, creativity and strong emotional intelligence.
  • Comfortable in supporting multi disciplinary teams in complex environments
  • Confident and capable to facilitate workshops alone and to present findings to clients/customers and stakeholders 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
  • Previous line management experience
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholders and report into the leadership team.
  • Highly develop communication skills with experience dealing with people at all levels to successfully engage with busy people and capture their input.
  • Ability to understand process and technical challenges and break them down to actionable steps.
  • High level of organisational skills with the ability to plan and schedule multiple projects and programmes effectively and deliver agreed activities consistently on time.
  • Be a champion of equality, diversity and inclusion and work collaboratively with different stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other staff          
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate and communicate clearly. 
  • Can demonstrate initiative, creativity, flexibility and a personal ethos of continuous improvement   
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet changing needs

Salary range: Grade 1£57,023 - £67,500
