TERMS OF REFERENCE Job Title: Training Facilitator (Trafficking in Human beings) Employee Type: Consultancy Employee Category:Service Contract Period/duration: March 15, 2024 – June 30, 2024 Location: Italy Reports to: Program Manager (IRC Italy) The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. At work today in over 50 countries, the IRC aims to restore safety, dignity, and hope to millions uprooted and struggling to endure. In Italy and Germany, IRC focuses on protection, economic well-being, education and empowerment, and is currently implementing an AMIF- funded project on anti-trafficking. The DIRECT project (Develop coordInation with migRants to Enhance inClusion of Trafficked persons) aims at facilitating the early identification of victims of Trafficking in persons and increasing prevention through the collaboration with migrant-led organizations, as well as promoting the integration of third-country national victims of trafficking. The project is implemented in Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Greece. As part of the DIRECT project, in Italy IRC will train first responders working in reception centers and migrant-led organizations on Trafficking in persons, to increase their capacity to identify and support victims of trafficking. The training will provide the staff with theoretical and practical tools to recognize the crime of Trafficking in persons, identify presumed victims, refer them to specialized services and prevent recruitment and exploitation. IRC is currently looking for one facilitator who will deliver training on Trafficking in persons to first responders working in reception centers or organizations supporting refugee and migrant populations, in Sicily and, potentially, in Lombardy and Lazio. The training will be based on an existing curriculum developed by the IRC. SCOPE OF WORK The main responsibilities of the DIRECT Training Facilitator will include: March 15, 2024 – June 30, 2024 Estimated effort: approx. 60 working hours. ·An advanced university degree in social studies, political studies, law, or other relevant social sciences. ·A minimum of five years professional experience in HumanTrafficking in Italy. ·Experience in training facilitation, especially on human trafficking. ·Proven ability to work independently and to meet the deadlines. ·Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate with diverse people. ·Proficiency in Italian; English desirable. ·Preferably based in Sicily. ·Availability to travel across Sicily and to Milan. ·Driving license (B).
