Within Development & Technology (Research and Development), the Equipment Engineering department has full responsibility for all Tetra Pak packaging lines: it holds the ownership of technical specification for all the filling machines and downstream equipment from early technology innovation to product life-cycle activities.
Within this organisation we are now looking for a Packaging Equipment Technical Manager, that is a senior professional responsible for the technical specification of equipment. The Technical Manager is a recognised functional/technical expert in own business area, active in development of long-term plans for area of responsibility. He provides strong functional/technical guidance to an extended community. The Technical Manager manages multiple internal, and sometimes external, customers to clarify status and gaps vs current technical specification; impact analysis of projects under definition; drive a strong technical push in the pipeline of new developments. He is responsible to transfer technical competences to lower levels to secure business continuity.
This is a permanent position based in Modena, Italy.
In this position your main responsibilities will be to:
• Manage Equipment Specification and architecture
• Decide of Equipment Technical Maturity based on information provided by project team
• Secure that Equipment specifications fulfil overall system requirements
• Lead technical commonality and standardization
• Lead feasibility and impact analysis
• Manage the End to End responsibility and Equipment roadmap for the Product Development and Lifecycle management
• Drive Early Innovation, lead prioritization and coordination of Technology Know How from Equipment Engineering and Automation in line with System Solutions & Innovation Strategy
• Packaging Equipment voice towards (in and out) stakeholders and customers
• Participate in program team and governance representing assigned machine systems
What you will do
- Participate in the translation of the stakeholder needs and requirements into technical solutions
- Lead equipment architecture design
- Lead equipment integration of the complete technical solution
- Lead equipment configuration management
- Leading Technology integration into equipment
- Lead complex technical trade-offs between subsystems
- Lead equipment performance monitoring
- Participate as permanent member at TSG (Technical Solution Governance Meeting) and PGM (Product Governance meetings) to ensure that technical solution fulfils equipment requirements.
We believe you have
- You have a Master Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering.
- You have a strong technical lead, typically more than 5 years professional experience in driving complex technology development, in automatic machinery devices, ideally in filling machines.
- You can handle high Product Technical Complexity (filled product, technology), high Business Criticality (number of install base machines, business case, urgency, key customers, several customers), high Stakeholders Complexity (number of stakeholders, key customers, key suppliers), high Level of abstraction of the development (concept development, unexplored areas).
- You also have knowledge of Tools and Systems, Product lifecycle management, Engineering change management, Machine design, Architecture Design, Configuration Management, General food technology, Regulations & Legislation (Tetra Pak technical corporate standards), System Engineering Basics.
- You are skilled in English, both written and spoken.
