JOB MISSION:

The Government AffairsSr Associate collaborate with the Associate Director Government Affairs within the Corporate Affairs Division. Is responsible to support the design, development, and implementation of the national Government Affairs strategy - in line with the Corporate Affairs integrated goals – to prepare system readiness to embrace Lilly’s innovation and guarantee equal access to medicines for patients.

The role requires a deep understanding of business needs and priorities, cross-functional mindset, writing- communication skills, an accurate and broad understanding of the Italian political, legislative  scenario, awareness on the potential developments in health, pharmaceutical and industrial policies in order to design efficient policy strategies, engagement plans and internal communications on major risks and opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master degree in Law, Political Science or related fields (Postgraduate in healthcare policies or lobbying/Public Administration will be a plus);
  • Native Italian speaker with fluent English skills (speaking and writing);
  • At least +3 years experience in Institutional bodies (e.g. Parliament, Government etc.)/Public Affairs consultancy provider or +3 experience in companies in National Public/Government Affairs roles (experiences in pharmaceutical and healthcare sector will be a plus);
  • Strong writing (speeches, articles, background notes, power points) speaking, communicational skills – publications on public policy issues will be a plus;
  • Understanding of the political environment, national legislative tools, framework and trends (legislative monitoring);
  • Extensive network and strong social and interpersonal skills to build and manage new;
  • In-depth experience in project management related to public events and campaigns;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in company cross-functional teams and multicultural environment;
  • Solution oriented mindset;
  • Deep confidentiality, diplomacy, intuition to manage confidential dossiers/information;
  • Knowledge of Farmindustria Code of Ethics, able to supervise and ensure internal compliance procedures;
  • Keen to travel, work independently, plan own time and match strict deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Associate Director in designing and implementing the Government Affairs strategy;
  • Monitor the political and legislative developments on strategic dossiers and timely and accurately inform Associate Director, Vice-president and internal stakeholders;
  • Ensure support on full integration with national and international business units to understand needs, translate into policy priorities, update them on strategy implementation, policy developments, opportunities and risks;
  • Map and build strong relationship with key national decision makers and relevant stakeholders to support the engagement on corporate and business priorities and position Lilly as leader in the industry;
  • Draft contents (papers, backgrounds notes, presentations, policy drafting) and policy proposals to support GA engagement strategy, events organization, Lilly positioning and a timely internal communication;
  • Support an efficient project management of selected institutional public initiatives (e.g. events, roundtables, institutional visits) promoted by the Corporate Affairs team;
  • Ensure a strong and smooth team-work with Corporate Affairs team on integrated activities with a multi-stakeholder mindset;
  • Support Associate Director and Vice- President and multiple level of the company on the external institutional positioning (e.g. event speeches, background information, organization of meetings etc.)
  • Support the collaboration with International Business Units and European Government Affairs team on selected dossiers: ensuring update on strategy implementation, linking national with European GA strategy, and guaranteeing best practices sharing;
  • Promote a Government Affairs culture working with a cross-functional approach;
  • Ensure and supervise procedures and compliance accurate application.
