Molecular Insights into Sortilin-driven Aortic Valve Calcification

The aims of the present project include:
- To unravel the role and the molecular mechanism through which sortilin is involved in calcific degenerative Aortic Valve stenosis onset and progression employing a minipig model;
- To determine the variations of circulating sortilin levels and the lipidomic plasma profile through the time into minipig experimental model;
- To identify the best lipidomic profile and the cut-off of sortilin circulating levels to monitor AS pathophysiology and severity in patients with natural history AS at different stages degree of the pathology
