In the context of our Digital Transformation, we are looking for a Software Engineer for the ‘IT P&C Retail Distributor Sales’ team. In this context you will help bring about our Digital Transformation of the P&C Retail Sales process through the distribution channel, in support of our brokers and partners.
This transformation will allow our brokers and partners to work with us, by means of either a Front-end, which will be developed in house, or APIs, which our partners will integrate in their own front-ends. The Front-end and APIs will be integrated in our existing legacy backend systems.
As a Software Engineer you main tasks include:
- You create efficient design, develop and maintain our backend-APIs (Java based) supporting our Frontend-application (Angular based), as well as our APIs exposed externally for integration with our partners
- You will join the Java engineering community and participate in the DevOps and Cloud journeys
- You steer the evolution of engineering products and tools (SonarQube, SwaggerHub…)
- You maintain standards, venture in new concepts, help to prototype and adopt new methodologies and architectures
- You will join the cloud journeys on Amazon Web Services
- You play an active role in Agile ceremonies as part of the Agile delivery process (Quarterly Planning, grooming sessions, Sprint planning, daily scrum, retrospectives, demo)
- You will grow in areas like security, event-driven architecture, API management, serverless…
- You will become a proactive team member, ensuring an efficient, qualitative and sustainable software delivery
Your Profile
What you bring to the table
As a Software Engineer, you have:
Technical skills
- A master’s degree in IT or in science technology with a strong interest in IT
- Min 3 years experience as java-developer
- Working knowledge of a variety of programming languages ( Java, Python, Javascript,…)
- Experience in working with restful API
- Experience in GitHub for source code management and for version control
- Experience in AWS cloud, using Infrastructure as code
- Thorough understanding of the SDLC (branching strategy and any related build & release automations)
- A test-driven development approach is highly appreciated

- Full working proficiency in English and one of the national languages (French or Dutch)
