We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (1 Year Fixed Term Contract) to join our English Technology Team. As a key member of our team, your tasks will work with Architect Quality Engineer to provide technical and strategic direction, responsible for building high quality testing tools for defect prevention/early detection, designing, and developing technical test strategies, test harness, framework component, quality metrics and tools that are needed to support software testing. Expected to pro-actively analyse current processes and practices to drive improvements.

What makes you the ideal candidate in this role?

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant IT, Software or QA related degree.
  • Deeper knowledge in Software Development process including analysis and design, system and user testing, coding, problem resolution.
  • Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, such as Java, PHP, and Python, as well as different web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript,
  • Expert in commonly used testing tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, and Playwright
  • Expert in RESTful API testing, with the use of Postman and REST Assured
  • Experience in performance testing concepts such as Load testing and Stress testing, using common tools like JMeter and Blazemeter
  • Innovate testing approaches by utilizing Generative AI technologies such as ChatGPT and Github Copilot

An ideal candidate for this role also possesses the essential skills to become a future team leader and decision-maker, including communication skills and working with peers in different time zones.
