A Senior Project Manager oversees the entire project, including budgets, plans, schedules, and product demonstrations. The Project Manager works alone, with an assistant, or with a management team that he can delegate specific assignments to. This person manages the project to a successful conclusion. \
High-level responsibility:
This position can be responsible for a large project or multiple projects at the same time and decides which should take priority. A Senior Project Manager likely has a larger management team that includes Project Managers and assistants. He/She will be expected to work well in a team-oriented environment. As an IT resource for the organization, the incumbent will exercise a high degree of independence in driving the project based on project working standards, timely project deliverables, and quality of systems being implemented by the project team. This position will primarily focus on project and resource management, and will strictly monitor project R.A.I.D and the achievement of the Project team. Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and interact with all levels.
- Assigns and monitor work of technical personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on-time and within budget
- Leads the change management, ownership of documentation, communication plans, initiate process training, related to implementation and knowledge transfer
- Defines project scope, deliverables, roles and responsibilities in collaboration with stakeholders and business experts.
- Establishes, plans, and executes major milestone reviews and decision gates to complete the program and project life cycle.
- Ensures all the required products/scope are produced and reviewed, including the technical leadership of requirements management, design, implementation, system integration, verification, test, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainment of the technical solution working with our SMEs and Business/Technical Analyst.
- Exercises broadly delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing many routine and complex projects/programs.
- Manage scope throughout the project duration. Maintains accurate program estimates, timelines, project plans, status reports.
- Manages and tracks team velocity, financials, and other KPIs in relation to the plan and published progress reports.
- Can Manage and supervise a team member directly or indirectly reporting to him/her..
Key Result Areas:
- Project planning including schedule development, acceptance criteria definition.
- Manages and appropriately escalates: delivery impediments, risks, issues, and changes associated to the product development initiatives
- Be able to maintain and manage own dashboard and project portfolio
- Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and interact with all levels
- Analysis, planning, developing requirements documents, building functional models, developing procedures, developing functional architectures, and other related management and technical duties together with Subject Matter experts
- Project monitoring including but not limited to issue tracking, risk management & mitigation, stakeholder management.
- Proper scoping and recommendation of project strategy and solution considering the available resources and budget.
- Project delivery including test acceptance, documentation delivery, hand-over to production and operations.
- Establishing & maintaining clear and consistent communication and reporting throughout the project duration.
- Participation to AXA standard project governance and prioritization model.
- Initiating, Planning and Execution of Project’s work packages across different assets.
- Resolves conflicts by demonstrating leadership and appropriate decision-making competencies.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or a combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 7 years IT experience; at least 5 of those years focused on Project Management with gradually increasing responsibilities and a demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, artifacts and tools
- Minimum 3 years experience in Life/Health Insurance
- Must have managed a ground-up project
- Minimum 2 years’ experience on people/team management
- Training with Agile/scaled agile methodology (certification is a plus)
- With training and solid experience with Project Management standards (PMP or Prince2 certification is a plus)
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience with Project Risk Management
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Visio to create documents, presentations, and detailed drawings.
- Good technical writing, documentation, and communication skills are required.
- Experience on Project Reporting and KPI fulfillment, establishing transparency on project performance via Reporting, Dashboard and Project Documentation.
- Ability to independently manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and project team
- Excellent judgment, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Full understanding of software development lifecycle best practices
