To continue making data accessible and help our clients make strategic business decisions, we are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong business-oriented mindset, good command of ETL tools, and a true passion for Technology.

As a Data Engineer, sitting within the Product team and reporting to the CTO, you will be the point of reference for the client (Product Owners) and the project team on analytics, data practices, and harmonisation.

You will have the creativity to build a rich Data Visualization layer to the Analytics solution and to ensure a solid and scalable architecture of the solution.

You will use data to provide visibility on key metrics, performance, and business opportunities to global FMCG companies.

Our Senior Data Engineer will:

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
  • Design, maintain and improve optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Azure technologies
  • Identify, design, and implement ETL/ELT process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for scalability and stability
  • Define and ensure the Analytics architecture meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc. Approving final product before launch.
  • Develop and document ETL/ELT policies and procedures, standards, and metrics to support customer analytics business rules.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
  • Establish data quality processes and compliance with data standards for data domains.
  • Troubleshoot issues with data quality as identified by customers.
  • Understand critical data relationships and customer data domains.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, data producers, and data consumers to get an understanding of current processes and systems that has a direct impact on the quality of the enterprise data.
  • Work with Software Architects to define and maintain a customer data model and Analytics solutions.
  • Being responsible for the troubleshooting activities in case of performance and production problems related to the Analytics solution.
  • Exhibit Agile leadership: exhibit the behaviours of an Agile Leader with an Agile Mindset. Helps the team embrace Agile Values, adopt, and apply Agile Principles, and implement Agile practices.

 

A great candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics
  • Good experience with complex Analytics architecture and infrastructure.
  • Experience with physical and relational data modelling
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience in working with relational databases
  • Strong understanding of Azure ETL and Data Storage technologies (e.g., Data Lakes, Data Bricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory)
  • Accustomed to working with distributed version control systems (GIT, DevOps)
  • Data Viz oriented, and acquainted with latest data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau…)
  • Good knowledge of the CI/CD principles and implementation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and able to prioritise tasks with strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent in English with sound Business English knowledge
  • Create and manage data using a lakehouse
  • Design pipelines to copy data into your lakehouse
  • Use Spark job definitions to submit batch/streaming job to Spark cluster
  • Use notebooks to write code for data ingestion, preparation, and transformation
  • (Considered a plus) experience MS Fabric and OneLake
