It’s an exciting time to join the IT team here at AXA UK&I, with significant investment planned across the business to transform and deliver cloud services to our customers and streamline and automate our business processes. To help us build our IT capability, accelerate the delivery of our strategic programmes and drive the adoption of unified agile ways of working, we’re looking for a talented individual to join the team!
Working in the central AXA UK&I IT team, you’ll provide direction to the domain and liaise with the different business sponsors to ensure alignment to strategic objectives.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations in Redhill, Middlesbrough or Tunbridge Wells, visiting clients or attending industry events. Occasional travel to other offices will be required for this role, approximately twice a year.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop, define and articulate a comprehensive vision for cloud operations in the UK, emphasising the quickest possible value release for business initiatives
- Lead and manage a high-performing team of cloud professionals with expertise in AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship for continuous skill development
- Drive the evolution of cloud provisioning into a 'Platform as a Product' model, focusing on enhancing the developer experience by minimising handoffs and operational toil
- Play a key role in selling and prioritising initiatives to promote a 'Platform as a Product’ approach within the organisation
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure initiatives are successfully implemented and deliver the desired outcomes
- Design and implement robust network architectures on Azure
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with multi-cloud services
Your Profile
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Significant experience in cloud computing and infrastructure management
- Proven experience managing complex cloud environments, including both AWS and Azure
- In-depth knowledge of AWS and Azure services, with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimising cloud solutions
- Strong understanding of FinOps principles and experience in implementing cost optimisation strategies
- Experience of working in productised environment and managing backlogs driven by business value
- Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
