SENIOR R&D ENGINEER– Testing & Prototyping Specialist
Responsibilities
In the product concept team, the mission is to bring to life innovative technologies and concepts in new and imaginative ways. We are looking for a professionistwho will be assisting in the manufacturing and assembly of electro-hydraulic devices, components manufacturing and integration and preparation of the testing and validation environments for the functional requirements tests.
Activities
- Prepare, update sub-system DVPs, interfacing with multidiscipline teams supporting analysis and verification.
- Develop and perform Test Procedures and metrics against system requirements and industry state-of-the-art practices and standards.
- Develop and design thermo-hydro-mechanical, prototypes, and proof-of-concept models to test hypotheses, support prototype builds, and orders raw material to build prototype parts, manage the shop floor machines and job cues.
- Define measurement chains and simple test rigs layout/processes to perform defined Test Procedures
- Support investigation into failures of prototypes and initiate corrective action
- Work concurrently with the design engineers to provide design for testability (DFT) feedback throughout the design process.
- Manage external test labs for electrical and EMC testing
- Support Testing Team in defining DAQ and Sensors correct choices and procurements
Requirements
- Master of Science, or equivalent in industrial engineering, with knowledge of hydraulic principles and design of mechatronic devices. Hands-on knowledge and experience with systems engineering methods to define test procedures and acceptance criteria (DVP&R) from system requirements.
- Knowledge of CAD modelling environment and realization of technical drawing, including the dimensioning and tolerancing principles and indications, to support the design-to-manufacture of testing rigs and fixtures, prototype parts and subsystem assemblies.
- Experience with unique prototypes creation and assembly and hands-on knowledge of (rapid) prototyping machines, robotic equipment and power tools (3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CNC and milling, hydraulic controlled press …)
- Experience working both analytically and in practical prototype manufacturing, assembly and testing. Systematic and thorough approach to work. Inquisitive and motivated to solve problems as an individual and as part of a larger team.
- Confident in Data Analysis with Post-Processing skills (MATLAB, LabVIEW, etc) and naturally organized and prone to produce conclusive Test Reports for own activities.
- Familiar with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 16750, ISO 20653 or any OEMs Testing Specifications, experience with Water and/or Oil Pump Test Rigs is considered a plus.
- Self-motivated individual, capable of performing duties with limited supervision while conforming to tight work completion deadlines.
- Fluency in English is a must, another European language is a plus.
