The Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) of the University of Geneva, one of Europe’s leading Universities in the beautiful Swiss city of Geneva, is opening a Research and Teaching Assistantfull position for the Institute of Management (IoM).

The Institute of Management includes more than 30 researchers in the core areas of Management. The selected candidate will join Professor Raisch’s team which conducts research on artificial intelligence’s implications for organizations and society. Their work is regularly published in the leading international academic journals and has received important recognitions. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the team on their research as well as on designing the award-winning Master and MBA courses and coaching GSEM students.

The successful candidate is expected to enrol in GSEM’s PhD in Management and write a doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professor Sebastian Raisch. Participation in research projects will also be required.

In addition, the selected candidate will be the Teaching Assistant for various courses, both at Bachelor and Master levels. The tasks involve, for instance, running tutorials, preparing exam questions, grading exams, and supervising Master theses.

The chosen candidate will be hired on a 2-year renewable contract. The position has a maximum duration span of 5 years. The first 3 months are a probatory period during which both parties can terminate the working agreement with a 1-month notice period. It is a 100% assignment with a starting gross annual salary of ca. CHF 68'357.

Job qualifications & requirements

  • Master’s degree in management or in a closely related field.
  • Outstanding analytical abilities, strong communication skills, exceptional intellectual curiosity, self-discipline and the proactiveness to complete a doctoral thesis.
  • Some prior working experience in companies or organizations.
  • Some experience with statistical programs (such as R) and/or programming skills (such as Python) would be helpful.
  • Excellent English language skills (both oral and written) as well as compulsory knowledge of one of the Swiss national languages (French, German or Italian).

Starting Date:

September 1st, 2024, or date to be agreed upon.
