Project Control Tower Manager

Kuehne+Nagel is a global leader in logistics and supply chain management, committed to delivering excellence in engineering, procurement, and construction solutions. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Manager to join our Project Logistics team in Houston, TX.

Your Role

Reporting to the National Project Logistics Manager you will have overall responsibility for Kuehne+Nagel’s Project Logistics Operations of the Project Control Tower. The core purpose of this role is to deliver complex projects while meeting profitability goals. You will also provides the direction and leadership to the Control Tower teams to ensure Project Logistics strategies are delivered. Talent development and mentoring is key to this role. Providing coaching and feedback to the teams will ensure operational excellence and improve individual performance. As a role model to your staff, you also need to be responsible for your self-development. At all times acting in a safety-first manner with integrity, honesty, and the knowledge to promote the Project Logistics strategies and the culture of Kuehne+Nagel.

Your Responsibilities

• You will provide leadership and guidance to the operational Control Tower teams.
• Ensuring the required staff levels are maintained based on the business and financial requirements per project.
• You will provide the strategy and a clear plan for strategy deployment to the Control Tower management teams for execution.
• Maintain adequate relationships with your internal business partners (e.g., Human Resources, Finance, Business Unit products, etc.)
• You will ensure that compliance controls are in place.
• Effective cost managing & constant oversite of the accounting activities per project.
• Resolution of client escalations.

Your Skills and Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management
• 2-5 Years’ experience in Project Management/Project Logistics
• 0-2 years’ experience in International Logistics
• 2-5 years’ experience with Energy or Special Cargo Handling
