We are looking for a motivated and result-driven Product Manager to strengthen our Fuel Gas Supply Systems team and to follow our successful MethanolPac and Methanol Auxiliary systems. 

Wärtsilä Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS) is a product line in the Marine Business developing, managing, marketing, selling, and delivering complete systems for storing and handling alternative fuels on board marine vessels. The fuels covered by FGSS include LNG, methanol, ammonia and hydrogen. We are a young and competitive team in Wärtsilä, which has been constantly growing in the past 5 years. We offer an opportunity in an international and competitive market at the centre of the most discussed topic of the shipping industry: decarbonization and alternative fuels.

Position information:

The preferred location is in Vaasa, Finland, Trieste, Italy, or Gdynia, Poland. 

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for the following: 

• Defining the standard portfolio for the Methanol systems
• Defining and following the Methanol systems/products roadmaps
• Setting the priorities for the new development/improvement activities around the methanol products/systems
• Developing the product/systems information and documentation for each lifecycle phase of the products/systems
• Approving the final documentation/drawings for the standards
• Represent the product line in internal and external meetings concerning the products/systems of responsibility
• Develop relationships with internal external stakeholders (e.g. colleagues from R&D/engines, customers/SGMF, etc.) to collect information from the market and improve the products/systems further
• Coordinate engineering resources when needed

Requirements:   

As an ideal candidate, you would have:

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in engineering, preferably mechanical or naval
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Good computer and software skills (Autocad, O365)
• Experience in the marine business is seen as an added value
• Experience in product management is seen as a plus
