About the role
Are you looking for a Procurement role where you can drive efficiency and shape procurement objectives across an entire organization? If so, this Procurement Lead role could be an exciting opportunity to explore.
As a Procurement Lead, you will be responsible for driving value through sourcing projects across the Indirect Procurement area, including a variety of exciting categories of spend and functions at (COMPANY NAME). Your role is going to be a key contributor to the delivery of our business objectives, being responsible for leading and managing the procurement function within our organization in Southern Europe. You will ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Key responsibilities
* Strategic Procurement : Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies, aligned with regional and global teams, as well the Local Leadership Team's objectives and budgetary requirements. Input to and alignment in the creation of regional and global sourcing strategies, representing the needs of the market and its specific dynamics.
* Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions to optimize value for the organization.
* Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Cost Management: Drive cost-saving initiatives through efficient procurement practices, market analysis, and supplier negotiations. Driving operational efficiencies by ensuring Contract & Preferred Supplier list compliance as well as managing the Tail spend. Value delivery aligned with key stakeholders (e.g. Finance) in accordance with the Savings Methodology.
* Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply disruptions, price fluctuations, and compliance issues.
* Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve procurement processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, transparency, and compliance.
* Team Leadership: Even though this role does not have direct reporting, you will be part of a high-performing procurement team and can provide peer guidance, coaching, and support to ensure the achievement of departmental goals.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Marketing, Operations, HR, etc to align procurement activities with business needs and priorities.
* Compliance: Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards, promoting transparency, fairness, and integrity in all procurement activities.
* Local Procurement expertise: Be the local expert in the spend categories within scope of responsibility. Build strategic relationships with local (COMPANY NAME) stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement's value proposition. Align sourcing strategies accordingly.
Qualifications and skills
* Relevant previous experience in a similar role, preferably in FMCG, Consumer healthcare and in mass market distributed businesses.
* University Degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain or similar.
* Core Procurement background is required across key Procurement Capabilities including but not limited to negotiation skills, contracting skills, and strategic sourcing. In addition, strategy implementation capabilities will be required in performing this role.
* Demonstrated expertise in managing categories, particularly with respect to developing & implementing strategies, stakeholders management and suppliers relationship management.
* Demonstrated experience in influencing strategy and managing across multiple geographies and business units.
* Demonstrated experience in managing global/regional projects with consideration to diverse local needs and regulation (eg taxes, law, regulation).
* Capability to manage relationships with high level stakeholders (VP/GM), being an active contributor in the leadership teams to drive the business agenda.
* Fluent English.
