Private Debt Funds Investment Senior Manager (X,F,M)

The Private Debt Funds Investment Senior Manager is responsible for defining and deploying AXA IM PRIME’s Private Debt Funds Investment strategy by sourcing, implementing and delivering Funds Investment across the Private Debt asset class. The Private Debt Funds Investment Senior Manager will also provide support to the Private Debt Co-investments selection as well as the Fund financings teams that cover corporate, commercial real estate and infrastructure underlying assets.

 AXA IM Prime Business set-up

• Being responsible for the definition, the deployment and management of AXA IM Prime Private Debt Funds investment strategy and vehicles, including primary funds  as well as potential secondary funds or portfolios transactions for both AXA companies and third-part clients for the following asset classes:
  • corporate (notably high-yield mid market lending)
  • commercial real estate
  • infrastructure
• Contribute to the product offering for AXA IM Prime fund/co-investment and secondary products and work alongside AXA IM Prime structuring, legal and tax  teams to set-up the relevant funds (commingled, bespoke and AXA dedicated)
• Be instrumental in the setting up of the optimal risk adjusted profile strategies according to AXA IM prime client segmentation, in close collaboration with AXA IM sales team
• Contribute to building a best-in-class reporting tool that fit with AXA and third-party clients requirements
• Portfolio construction, market intelligence and opportunities screening
• Contribute to  the fundamental analysis of the Private Debt market segments and drivers as well as the impact of the trends for the whole asset class
• Review the market developments to identify asset classes, asset managers and investments to be considered primarily on fund and co-investment (potentially on secondary trades as well)
• Determining to what extent an investment would fit with portfolio construction objectives
• Sharing outcome of findings with rest of the team and making recommendation based on a first assessment of opportunities
• Understanding ESG impact of investments and fit with AXA IM Prime targets in relation thereto will form part of the analysis
• Contribute to the definition, the organization and the management of the screening & pre-selecting process for Private Debt based upon an enhanced third party asset managers relationship networks: existing AXA’s Private Debt partners, leveraging on AXA IM Prime existing networks of third parties across the various business lines as well as developing news relationships.
• Contribute to the building and coordination of a sourcing enhancing network through notably bank, financial advisors and other financial intermediaries
• Support the  screening and selection process of potential  infra debt fund managers in coordination with the AXA IM Prime team in charge of infrastructure equity
• Be instrumental to the Market intelligence (including research) for AXA IM prime Private Debt activity
• Contribute to organize any new investment ideas opportunities and animate the market watch for Private Debt

Deal execution

• Lead initial as well as follow -up strategic due diligences on third party asset managers and funds
• Heading the   execution of transactions of fund investments incl. negotiating partnership terms with GPs / 3rd party Asset Managers, in close collaboration with AXA IM Prime legal and tax
• Participating to the review of co-investment opportunities on a deal-by-deal basis (Credit application review, definition of minimum standard application material, analysis and attendance to AXA IM Prime investment committee and AXA committee) under the lead of the Head of Private debt Co-investment
• Collaboration with the legal, tax and structuring credit team to support the implementation, including liaising with AXA IM Risk Management, Group accounting department and Group Tax
• Organizing the close monitoring of investments made including performance and portfolio construction monitoring and contribute to performing an adequate reporting
• Client relationship, reporting and fundraising
• Contribute to the fund-raising effort alongside AXA IM Prime sales team through pitches preparation, performing research,
• Contribute to control over the reporting tool to ensure accuracy of data reported
• Organize the monitoring of portfolio and asset performance
• Contribute to AXA IM Prime CRM tool timely update

 Team management & Private Debt team processes

• Lead the ramp-up of the team at AXA IM Prime for private Funds Investment 
• Be responsible for managing AXA IM Prime Private Debt Funds Investment team
• Be accountable for the high standard deliveries of the team (for internal or external clients)
• Organising the relevant committees at Prime and AXA Levels

SHARE your unique expertise

• Master’s degree in Finance / Economics or similar qualification

• 15 years of experience in the financial sector in best-in-class institutions (e.g. in bank, private lending institutions (“GP”), asset manager, financial advisory firm, insurance companies investment departments…)

• Proven success over several years in a leading role in Private Debt selecting and investing through funds (a must) as well as  through co-investments or direct investments (a plus)

• Strong team management skills

• Strong and sustained negotiation skills

• Deep understanding of asset management (in particular in private markets) / GPs perspectives

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

• Ability to think “out of the box” and work out innovative but economically feasible solutions, also under tight time constraints in a complex environment.
