Principal Engineer of AITechnologies for Digital Twin Applications In the context of the aerospace industry characterized by predominantly safety critical systems and applications that span from the aircraft to the ground and traffic management operations but also the entire lifecycle of a product development, we seek for qualified individuals to join the Digital Thread and Twin Technologies team with the focus of how AI technologies and methods can enhance Digital Twin applications. We seek to enhance our current R&D team in its efforts for continuous and incremental adoption of AI/ML and data-driven technologies during the lifecycle of a safety-critical product development. This adoption will have to address the industry's requirements for safety and security but also work with the broader community to push the current boundaries for the certification of the next-generation aerospace applications.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements of end applications and how safety requirements should be accommodated.
  • Design and implement advanced machine learning models and AI algorithms to analyze and interpret complex data sets in the context of Digital Twin applications. This includes the development of data pipelines to ensure the efficient and reliable flow of data for real-time analysis.
  • Collaborate with (project and leadership) stakeholders to communicate technical concepts and findings in a clear and accessible manner; support the definition of the strategy and roadmap around AI technologies in the context of safety-critical applications and Digital Twins.
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in developing data-driven solutions; minimum 7 years out of which a minimum of 3 years is on trust and safety applications.
  • Expertise in machine learning techniques, statistical analysis, and data visualization. Expertise with data lifecycle for data-driven solutions including DataOps/MLOps implementations, which permits for the actual operationalization of the developed applications.
  • Any expertise on NLU/NLP/NLG with or without LLM technologies is also welcome as we see more and more adoption of these techniques moving forward in the aerospace industry.
  • Good understanding of the Digital Twin concept; any practical experience with the development of real-time Digital Twin applications is very welcome.
  • Any expertise with Safety certification processes and workflow in a safety critical market (Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, ...) is also very well considered.
  • Any expertise with System Engineering (including Model-Based System Engineering), Validation & Verification tools and methods (Simulation, verification, model-based design, ) is very welcome.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
