About the Role:

We are currently looking for a talented Plant Food Safety and Quality Manager Alba who will:

  • Implement all the necessary Guidelines to manage the overall Food Safety & Quality within Alba Plant, according to the policies and procedures defined by Group Food Safety & Quality;
  • Activate all necessary levers to guarantee and monitor Food Safety & Quality for products, production processes and supply chain, according to the standard defined in the “New Product Full Mix” and by Group Food Safety & Quality, ensuring compliance with all the standards of Food Safety and hygiene in food industry;
  • Ensure that Plant personnel is adequately trained on Food Safety & Quality aspects.

FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY IMPLEMENTATION & EXECUTION

  • Ensure an efficient and effective management of FSQ in manufacturing, with reference to raw materials, packaging, semi-finished and finished products acceptance, with particular attention to Food Safety and Quality aspects of the products
  • Implement FSQ plans, improvement initiatives and projects at a plant level, ensuring central guidelines and legal and scientific standards are correctly applied
  • Measure compliance with FSQ through all transformation processes (incoming, transformation, finished product release, …) through sampling plans, audits and company information systems
  • Implement within the plant all Food Safety improvement initiatives (Thermal validation, EMP, Cleaning, Infrastructure & Equipment, Zoning, FP Positive Release, RM Positive Release, …) and risk preventing actions according to CAPA methods
  • Run allergen cross contamination risk assessment in the plant
  • Ensure efficient and effective implementation, maintenance and application of Plant Food Safety & Quality guidelines according to the Policy and Procedure defined by Group FSQ SMEs (product excellence, Food Safety, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and to similar schemes required by Group and Clients), and based on the risk analysis according to HACCP methodologies
  • Be responsible for HACCP plan definition inside the Plant, taking in consideration all FS risks
  • Propose improvement to existing guidelines and take care of their communication to Region and Area teams, providing feedbacks and improvements, in case of not-effective application of identified policies/ procedure and methodologies

  • Monitor and supervise plant operations to ensure adherence to established Food Safety and Quality protocols, intervening as necessary to maintain compliance
  • Facilitate the application of central standards regarding dedicated systems for monitoring products claims
  • Guarantee certifications requirements are respected (on Food Safety & Quality system, product system, ethic and religion), ensuring product compliance for all the receiving markets (interacting with them) and coherence with products' claims
  • Support and assist (liaising with RFSQM) internal and external authorities during investigation, controls and visits, on FSQ, ethics and religion topics
  • Support Central Audits from “on field” activities to the definition of corrective action plans, guaranteeing deadlines respect
  • Ensure the necessary technical support to the production, in particular for auto-control
  • Ensure the proper collection from the plant of industrial FSQ KPIs, being responsible for collected data accuracy

NON-CONFORMITIES MANAGEMENT

  • Management and decision making within the Plant on FSQ Non-conformities and Consumer Complaints, escalating to Area FSQ I&S and/or RFSQM
  • Block all non-compliant materials / processes (incoming materials, semi-finished and finished products), activating the escalation process according to the Group procedure
  • Take part in the decision of possible deviations from the control plan
  • Carry out root-cause analysis on occurred critical non-conformities and define CAPA needs, supported by the relevant Subject Matter Expert in order to avoid re-occurrence

HUMAN RESOURCES / TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure, in collaboration with the competent units, the coaching and training of employees on the safety of tools and equipment, on the use of the used substances and on accident prevention
  • Be accountable for managing people assigned, ensure a management system based on Group values, motivation, diversity  & inclusion, competence development and empowerment

Who we are looking for:

  • Scientific Master’s Degree or PhD, preferably in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science/Technology or similar;
  • At least 10 years of experience in Quality roles, preferably within structured Food Companies;
  • Leadership, Team Management, Negotiation, Communication, Decision Making skills;
  • Ability to manage relationship with different stakeholders;
  • Cross-functional collaboration and project management skills;
  • International mindset and availability to international business trips;
  • Excellent command of PC (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint); 
  • Fluent in English and Italian;
  • Other languages are considered as a plus.
