Our client is an innovative 3PL known for its strong customer base, dedicated employees, experienced management team, and history of growth and profitability. The group specializes in the transportation of agricultural products from shippers to receivers across the United States. Their goal is to efficiently move goods in a timely and cost-effective manner while building strong relationships with customers. They move goods utilizing a wide variety of means: hoppers, walking floors, dry vans, reefers, tankers, belts, flatbeds, end dumps, etc.
Logistics Account Executive
As the Logistics Account Executive you will lead the team in sales efforts and customer account management for the operations team. This role will encompass all aspects of customer relationships management, development, and growth. This role requires strong relationship building skills, effective time management, cold calling, prospecting, high focus on customer service, and a problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities:
  • Sales Focus:
    • Work with existing customers in current business footprint.
    • Grow customers through account management and in coordination with the capacity team.
    • Prospect new customers through proper vetting and research.
    • Develops relationships with new prospects and transitions them into consistent customers.
    • Work closely with a dedicated capacity team to book the team’s trucks based on current market rates, expectations, and home time requests.
  • Customer Communication:
    • Proactively communicate with customers making sure they are always up to date on their shipments.
    • Prompt and professional responses to customer requests.
    • Formal check-ins to verify customer’s input on our client’s service. (Quarterly or Bi-annually)
  • Freight Booking and Data Entry
    • Manage all shipments tendered from assigned customers.
    • Ensure all information is entered correctly and in a timely manner.
    • Updated all changes to existing orders and relaying to affected parties.
  • Issue Resolution
    • Diagnose, assess, and resolve load-related issues promptly and effectively. Monitor and address any persistent issues to ensure customer relationships are not negatively impacted.
    • Focus on results of customer scorecards
    • Escalate issues as necessary to management.
  • Career Development
    • Continuously develop customer portfolios to become eligible for promotion in Account Executive levels.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Sense of Urgency: Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and respond promptly to the dynamic demands of the logistics environment.
  • Exceptional Time Management: Consistently complete all required tasks on time, displaying a keen understanding of time-sensitive logistics operations.
  • Accurate Data-Entry Skills: Showcase proficiency in data entry, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and employing effective review processes to maintain data accuracy.
  • Highly Organized: Possess strong organizational skills to prevent errors and maintain smooth operations in a fast-paced logistics setting.
  • Problem-Solving: Exhibit a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, thinking creatively to address challenges and contribute to continuous process improvement.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiation Skills: Develop negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and agreements with shippers, carriers, and other logistics partners.
  • Geographical Proficiency: Thorough knowledge of US and North American geography, including major cities, transportation hubs, key highways, and interstates. The ability to leverage this knowledge to optimize routing and logistics operations is crucial. Along with the ability to perform accurate mileage calculations using various online resources and transportation planning tools.
  • Sales and Relationship Building Skills: Cultivate strong relationships with carriers and customers, promoting a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Ability to work in teams: Working well with others with a unified goal of high-level customer service.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected challenges with a flexible and adaptable mindset.
  • Market Knowledge is preferred: Demonstrate a solid understanding of the logistics market, including industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities.
  • Familiarity with Regulations and Compliance is preferred: Have a working knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements to ensure adherence to legal standards.
  • Knowledge of Various Transportation Modes is preferred: Possess familiarity with various truck transportation modes (e.g., bulk, dry van, refrigerated, flat bed, etc.)

This position offers a competitive base salary.
