About the Role The Legal Counsel will be responsible for counseling the business by giving legal support and by bringing negotiation/drafting competences as well as business acumen to deal with multiple functional teams in an international environment. She/he will collaborate with business leaders by advising on legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to the Companies’ businesses and work independently as well as part of various teams to take on projects in addition to the daily day job.
She/he will responsible for drafting legal documents, negotiating, structuring, interpreting, executing, and/or administering contractual documents and/or managing post-contractual issues. This role will give the opportunity to work in a high-profile technological environment, joining an international team.
Main
Responsibilities /
Duties Include:
Provide legal consulting and support regarding day-to-day contractual and business matters
Provide commercial legal advice, including contract drafting and negotiation support
Working closely with colleagues including throughout the Group and with Clients Management of external legal resource on particular projects
Ensure legal assistance in managing litigations and legal disputes
Work on developing templates and standards and maintain a deep understanding of Group policies and procedures;
Assist business teams on specific IPR legal issues;
Take a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring legal risks and issues are identified, addressed and reported and, where appropriate, escalated;
Anticipate and manage (legal) risks connected with or resulting from the business strategy and operations;
Secure compliance of business operations with relevant laws and regulations.
What You Need to Be Successful Knowledge and
Skills:
Proven legal support experience
Good knowledge of relevant areas of law including corporate, contract, commercial, data protection, bribery and corruption
Drafting and negotiating skills
Ability to deal with risk management, governance and compliance.
Ability to manage a sizeable workload
Ability and willingness to travel as required
Comfortable with stakeholder management but also able to work with colleagues at all levels of the business
Qualifications:
Law Degree with full marks (a Ph.D. in Law from an accredited Law School is preferable)
Member in good standing in a European Bar5-7 years of experience in corporate and contract law (in law firms or as in-house, preferable both)
Strong legal experience in corporate and commercial matters
Ability to work in an international and challenging environment
