Due to significant commercial growth in this sector, WSP Italia - Business Area - Power and Energy is currently looking for an intern as H&S ENGINEER to join us based in Rome or Rende (Cosenza).
This is a 6 month internship.
At the end of the internship, employment with the company will be evaluated.
The successful candidate will join our multi-discipline and cross-national team supporting in the development of projects in renewables sector and will have access to an unparalleled network of resources and opportunities to collaborate on exciting projects with diverse teammates from across the globe.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHAT'S INVOLVED?
* The individual performs the routine aspects of engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of engineering principles.
* Using prescribed methods, performs specific portions of engineering assignments.
* Compiles, verifies and correlates data relating to engineering problems.
* Assists in designs, studies, reports and preparation of process deliverables.
* Performs calculations, simulations and preliminary analyses.
* Uses computer programs as directed.
* Participates in preparation of material requisitions, specifications and other related documents.
* Coordinates assigned work with other technical personnel as directed.
* Assists in development and verification of project controls documents and status rep.
The main work activities will concern the development of consultancy services in the Health & Safety field for the various phases of projects that may be in Italy and abroad.
Just as example, possible work activities may include:
* Execution of Audits in the field to verify HS compliance;
* Execution of Technical Due Diligence;
* Drafting technical reports and specialist documents (Risk Assessment Documents, Safety and Coordination Plans, Fire Risk Assessment Documents, Emergency Plans, etc.);
* Activities related to the development and maintenance of management systems and/or related to HSE procedures (definition/integration/updating of policies, operating instructions, guidelines, etc.);
* Definition and development of training events about HSE;
* Specialist consultancy for the safety management of civil and/or industrial construction sites during all design phases (conceptual, basic, authorization, detailed);
* Drafting of technical design specifications;
* Participation in meetings/conferences with Authorities;
* Technical support provided to WSP Customers for project development.
Your Qualifications
* Master degree in safety, or civil/environmental engineering with specific experience in the field of safety at work and on construction sites;
* knowledge of the regulations applicable to the Health and Safety sector;
* Knowledge of the main fire regulations applicable to the civil and industrial sectors;
* Knowledge of the main IT tools (Office package, AUTOCAD etc.);
* Skills in oral and written communication with reference to the technical area;
* Knowledge of English language;
* Precision in doing job and proactivity in managing assigned work;
* Ability to comply with safety regulations;
* Availability, when needed, to carry out tasks not strictly related to one's work position;
* Ability to manage and organize the workload;
* Multidisciplinary and open approach towards the project team;
* Good work ethic and respect for core WSP values.
