We are now looking for an In-situ machining technician to join our Specialized Services team of In-situ machining experts, that operates in the field (e.g. on power plants, vessels that are in the drydock or at sea, etc.). The preferred location for the position is in GENOVA. 

 

When you are not in the field, remote working is an option. 

  

What will you be doing? 

 

In this position, your work will include interpreting engineering drawings and working in an international environment. Main responsibilities include a timely completion of all jobs assigned, quality and efficiency of In-Situ machining jobs & safety management (including zero injuries policy). 

You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independency, as you will have the support from the FS coordinator and your colleagues. 

  

As In-Situ machining technician, your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Required Service technician plans and organizes the service jobs assigned him by the Service coordinator. 

  • Performs mechanical grinding/machining, alignments, or reparations on components using different techniques (e.g. engine block and crankshaft reconditioning, metal stitching, etc.).  

  • Ensures that quality service reports are submitted after job completion to the Service coordinator. 

  • Use & maintain the working tools (e.g. CPM, PTL, laser tools, grinding, etc.) in accordance with good mechanical work practices. 

  • Conform with & abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures & instructions. 

  

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: 

 

  • Ability to read a mechanical drawing. 

  • Hands-on skills 

  • Ability to use measurements tools. 

  • A good knowledge of English is required (all technical bulletins and manuals are in English). 

  • Use of Computer and its main programmes (e.g. word, excel, email, etc.). 

  • Ability to work under pressure. 

  • Able to travel for 80% of the time, in Italy or abroad. 

  • Previous experience working in the field is a plus. 

  • Experience in engine repair and/or workshop is nice to have.
