What you will do
Your role as IT Operations Manager is to ensure the smooth running of the entire ICT production environment (incl software, datacenters, network, endpoint devices, ...). You will work with over 20 external partner organizations (level 2 + level 3 support) along with a team of service owners and our internal L1. Your leadership will be pivotal in defining and executing the ICT operations strategy, establishing and implementing IT policies and procedures that foster strong security and risk management. You are responsible for business continuity and disaster recovery. You will report to the VP ICT.
In general, this means that you will be:
Accountable for following processes:
- ICT crisis management/ Disaster Recovery Management
- Incident management (incl 24x7 for critical scope)
- Service request management (incl access mgmt / license mgmt)
- Release management (incl CAB)
- Asset management (CMDB)
- Problem management
- Run reporting, monitoring & alerting.
- Continuous improvement, process automation
- Security operations
- Operational budget management
- Drive vendor management (standardization, negotiation and compliance follow up, relationship & risk management, recurring performance follow up...)
- VIP support
Participate in following strategic ICT processes:
- Stakeholder management
- Community support
- Long term investment planning
- Training & development
- Performance management (matrix organization)
- Audit management
- Vendor Management – in alignment with the procurement department
Own operational routines – including:
- Daily standup
- Monthly service review (roll up)
- Vendor service reviews
- Monthly stakeholder report out

Who you are
- You have a master’s degree, preferably in computer science or engineering or similar by experience.
- You have a passion for implementing and enforcing policies and a proven experience on doing so in the context of ICT operations.
- You are a team player and with your no-nonsense attitude, you coordinate your team to get the job done. You can manage a team but are also close enough to the operations to step in if and when needed.
- You have an open mind and a fluent knowledge of English (Dutch is an advantage).
- We work in a matrix organization and with a significant partner network. Therefore, it is important that you feel comfortable in a complex and demanding environment. You are outspoken, and understand the importance of stakeholder management, both within imec and with our partners.
- You have experience working with ServiceNow or similar tools.
