Functional Responsibilities
UNOPS is seeking the assistance of an ICT Analyst (Web Content Analyst) to support the management of the existing websites, as well as foreseen web projects. The incumbent will work under the close guidance of the project team’s website and database specialist.
The incumbent will be responsible for populating and keeping up to date content across all the websites. This includes html static pages, javascript interactive content, animation integrations, media libraries, etc.
The project team will supply data, front-end design, complex coding, UX design, copy-edited text, logos/branding specifications and other necessary assets, while the incumbent will support the project team in maintaining and populating the different web spaces.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Crafting and refining web page content, including text, iframes, image/video segments, and short-codes.
- Regularly updating HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure modernity and functionality.
- Assisting in the development and management of SCORM files.
- Keeping Learning Management System (LMS) content current.
- Managing updates for multi-language site variants.
- Executing database updates, improvements, and optimizations.
- Overseeing user support and account management.
- Monitoring and purging databases of any auto-generated bidirectional spam.
- Providing technical support for website troubleshooting and debugging.
- Performing content audits to remove obsolete or redundant information.
- Collaborate with all staff to ensure the websites align with brand strategy and meet the organization’s standard.
The assignment is supervised by the Manager of the Global Programme on Nature for Development.
Education/Experience/Language requirements
Education
- First level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent), preferably in computer science, information technology or other related discipline is required.
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) will be considered a strong asset.
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in WordPress website development, including design and programming, analysis, development, testing, deployment, and/or maintenance of websites is required.
- Proficiency in visual communications and graphic design is desirable.
- A comprehensive understanding of the web development lifecycle, inclusive of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles, as well as conceptual design is desirable.
- Advanced programming abilities with knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, XML, JavaScript, AJAX, PHP, SQL, and content management systems like WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, or comparable platforms is desirable
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.
- Fluency in a second official UN language is desired.
