Ground StationEngineer m/f Ref. Sat_GSE_24

Tasks

• Engineering of Ground Stations and Ground Stations-as-a-Service (GSaaS) within FOS.
• Ground Station and GSaaS interfaces control management.
• Technical management of Ground Station and GSaaS supply.
• Support to Ground Station and GSaaS integration, verification and validation.
• Production and review of relevant documentation.
• Support design reviews and technical meetings on RF, networking, software, interfaces relevant to the Ground Station and GSaaS.

Qualifications

• University degree preferably in the fields of Aerospace/Space Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering or Computer Science and Engineering.
• General knowledge of Ground Segment Architecture and its main components.
• Sounding knowledge of Ground Stations Architecture.
• Knowledge in Radio Frequency systems design and development.
• Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing.
• Knowledge of computer systems (Linux in particular), programming languages and networking.
• Knowledge of space communication protocols layers (e.g., from the physical layer up to the application layer of the ISO/OSI Reference Model).
• Knowledge of CCSDS and ECSS space communication protocols standards (Sync and Channel Coding, Space Data Link, Space Packet Protocol (SPP), Encapsulation Packet Protocol, Space Data Link Security Protocol (SDLS), Space Link Extension (SLE), Packet Utilization Standard (PUS)).
• Knowledge of other communication protocols is an asset (e.g., MQTT, CAN-bus/CANopen, LVDS, RS422).
• Full professional proficiency in the English language is mandatory.
• High motivation, proactive working approach and strong sense of responsibility.
