Dayco works as a Global Team every day to raise the bar and provide more and more integrated solutions for Hybridization, optimizing the Control Logic of the Electric Machine performance and pursuing a Smart System Management that reduces the CO2 emissions.

Position

Main activities & responsabilities of the resource will be:

  • Auditing supplier Quality Management Systems and Manufacturing Capabilities;
  • Assist suppliers in completing corrective actions, audit corrective action implementation and effectiveness;
  • Support Manufacturing, Supply Management, Quality and Engineering functions for sourcing and Supplier Development globally;
  • Champion the supplier onboarding process for new suppliers including verification of process capability, quality systems, measurement and gauging, manufacturing and capacity utilization using the tools provided including Process Audits, Capacity Studies, Financial Risk Monitoring, Quality Assurance Audits and others;
  • Educate and assist suppliers in developing their systems to achieve compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 45001, APQP, MAQMSR (=Minimum Automotive Quality Management System Requirements), Lean Manufacturing and Government Laws & Regulations;
  • Assist suppliers with the APQP process from new concept through PPAP to the Dayco locations;
  • Participate in the qualification of new suppliers as a regular member of product launch teams;
  • Provide technical assistance to suppliers and Dayco facilities to reduce waste;
  • Perform annual Carbon Disclosure Project / Water Conservation compliance process together with Dayco EHS;
  • Perform annual conflict minerals survey / reporting process to be compliant with Dodd Frank Section 1502;
  • Work with suppliers to improve problem solving methodology;
  • Support Dayco manufacturing facilities and Global Commodity Managers with Quality Improvement, Cost Reduction and VAVE initiatives utilizing product + technical know-how and supplier recommendations;
  • Monitor supplier performance and provide monthly report out;
  • Implement supplier improvement plans to solve chronic and critical supplier quality issues;
  • Maintain the two-way supplier communication portal up to date and promote the utilization with Dayco and the Suppliers;
  • Other tasks maybe assigned when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Equivalent;
  • High-level knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001,  External Auditor qualification certificate of IATF16949 or VDA6.3 is required;
  • 7/10 years working experience as SQE / SDE in automotive industry is preferred.  Relevant experience in industrial processes is required and dealing with highly engineered components
  • Knowledge of multiple manufacturing processes for Stamping, Flow Forming, Machining, Rubber Injection Molding, Heat & Surface treatment, Painting/Plating and Electric components;
  • Skills in Technical Drawings, Project Management, strong SRM (=Supplier Relationship Management), Ability to implement Process Improvement and Problem Solving;
  • Statistical Process Control, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, Measurement Systems Analysis, APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, FMEA, Gauge Usage, Statistical Analysis software package (JMP, MiniTab, etc.);
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple functions;
  • Exceptional communication abilities;
  • Good written and spoken english;
