Future Talent Programme is a Trainee Program within Tetra Pak for newly graduates. We offer a permanent position from start in September 2024. You will onboard an individually designed development program for 18 months connected to a specific position and the Tetra Pak organization. During the program you will participate in trainings and job rotations throughout various parts of Tetra Pak to explore your potential and grow as a person. As a Trainee here with us, you will get to know our entire business and collaborate with colleagues all over the world. And this is just the beginning of your Tetra Pak career!

We are looking for a Data Engineer to support innovative projects that require the handling of structured and unstructured data, from data acquisition to analysis. We are searching for a person that can support the team by driving innovative development activities with focus on embedded AI/analytics solutions and explore methodologies to optimize our current and future solutions providing advice and guidance, and monitoring emerging technologies. 

This role will support the Early Innovation & Partnerships team in Automation and Digital, which is responsible to lead exploration activities, by scouting and consolidating new technologies available in the market that will further improve performance, quality and sustainably of current and future Tetra Pak equipment.  

This is a permanent position based in Modena - Italy, but you will work in a global arena.

What you will do

• Support innovation activities by implementing and testing solutions around embedded AI/Analytics  
• Software engineering within the IT / Industrial Automation application area. 
• Development of hardware abstraction layer and application layer software libraries. 
• In collaboration with our product development organisations, participate in the development of control applications and solutions embedded in packaging equipment 
• Develop software solutions that span from raw data collection to data preparation and modelling  
• Lead the discovery and analysis of data-driven opportunities that significantly impact our current equipment by increasing efficiency, cost savings, and improved product quality. 
• Collaborate effectively with interdepartmental teams, including Engineering, IT, Services to foster a data-informed culture. 
• Monitor and implement emerging technologies in the field 

We believe you have

• Master’s degree Computer Engineering, Automation engineering or equivalent technical field 
• Fluent English an Italian, both spoken and written 
• Background in data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques 
• Knowledge in designing, developing, and implementing of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components,  
• Knowledge of relational and noSQL databases, preferable MongoDB 
• Knowledge of MLOps and DevOps practices and solutions 
• Experience of object-oriented programming in the area of industrial automation area is preferred, in particular PLC and Beckhoff PC-based automation system knowledge is beneficial 
• Knowledge of the complete software engineering process and team collaboration, preferably agile practices (e.g. SAFe & Scrum). 
• A structured and analytical mindset as well as a strong personal drive and a very high interest in technical solutions. 
• Analytical and results oriented, with a solid and systematic approach to tasks 
• Team player, with very good communication skills and the ability to interact with different stakeholders at many levels 
• Curious, committed and eager to learn and improve day after day 
• Result oriented with a genuine business interest and strong analytical abilities  
• Swiftly and positively adapts to changes in a dynamic and high paced team, welcomes new professional challenges. 
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to create a solid network. Willingness to learn in a fast paced and international environment
