Job Description:

The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva benefits from an enriching multicultural dynamic to which it contributes by its influence within the framework of the mandates it has given itself: teaching, research and its partnership with the University Hospitals of Geneva (HUG).

In order to strengthen its team, the laboratory of Professor C. Scheiermann (Department of Pathology and Immunology - PATIM) of the University of Geneva is looking for a

full-time Senior Research Fellow

The selected candidate will be primarily in charge of the medical research project “Regulation and relevance of circadian leukocyte dynamics for skin immune homeostasis”, which involves conducting work related to the development of new immunotherapeutic approaches. This project requires in depth research on aspects related to the development and optimization of new therapeutic agents. It is funded by the European Commission through an ERC (European Research Grant) and will last until the end of 2026.

Title and skills required:

The candidate must hold a PhD (PhD) in immunology or medical research, supplemented by at least 5 years of postdoctoral experience.

Academic scientific expertise in the following areas is also required:

  • Cellular and tumour immunology (mice and humans);
  • In vivo laboratory experiments and data extractions for clinical studies (culture of primary cells and murine and human tumours);
  • Basic research in cell biology (15-colour flow cytometry, confocal microscopy), molecular biology (qPCR) and expertise on functional tests (ELISA, ELISPOT, primary cell transduction);
  • animal experiments, in vivo and in vitro (mouse) immune response measurement models. Resal Module 1 and LTK2 animal testing certificates required. Expertise in the drafting of animal testing licenses.

Finally, the minimum level of English required for this position is DELF B1.
