The opportunity
The Finance Data and Technology Leader is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, execution and governance of Finance Data and Technology to enhance financial processes, reporting, and analysis within the organization. This role combines financial expertise with strong Data and Technology acumen to enable data-driven decision-making and streamlined financial operations. The role will assess the current Data and technical landscape, scope near term and long-term strategy to address challenges and build the team needed to execute. They will also be required to lay out a strategic plan to operationalize post strategy execution.
Your key responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Leadership
- Develop and communicate a clear data strategy and execution plan to clarify and improve data quality, stewardship, speed, protection and compliance and management to better enable access and usability of data by finance professionals within a controlled environment.
- Develop and communicate a clear technology strategy and execution plan for leveraging technology to improve financial operations and decision-support, including the use of machine learning, AI and Gen AI, in accordance with the EY AI strategy.
- Stand up a data governance process including a Steering Group.
- Collaborate with leadership to align technology initiatives with overall business objectives and financial goals.
Financial Systems Management:
- Optimize existing financial systems to enhance functionality, integration, and automation of financial processes.
- Co-lead (with ET) a review of the finance systems ecosystem, identifying opportunities to further exploit the existing platforms and tools, eliminate efficiencies and support the further integration of key processes eg planning, pricing and costing tools.
- Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of financial systems, ensuring they meet the organization's needs for data accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
Data Governance and Compliance:
- Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security within financial systems.
- Work with EY Data Office to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to financial data management and reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including ET, finance, markets and talent, to ensure seamless integration of financial systems and technologies.
- Work closely with ET teams to align financial technology initiatives with broader technology infrastructure and standards.
Talent Development and Team Management:
- Drive broad Data and Technology upskilling required within R&A and broader finance.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of finance and Technology professionals.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and collaboration within the team.
