About the Role: In this role you’ll deliver the Communications and Engagement (C&E) strategy and execution for one of our therapeutic areas. You will be the primary business partner and trusted advisor for the relevant therapy area, drawing in C&E expertise as needed and offering relevant strategic counsel in order to address identified business and community needs. You will be accountable for communications activities and content, as well as delivering meaningful patient engagement in the relevant TA, in alignment with PE strategy
Key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Execute the development and implementation of strategic Communications and Engagement plans for priority brands as part of the TA x-functional team.
• Develops and executes insight-driven C&E TA strategy and tactical plans (consistent with and derived from global strategies) in the therapeutic area of reference .
• Be accountable for communications projects/programs such as producing communications assets, materials and initiatives such as publications, media releases, events, product and PR activities, disease or activation campaigns around key TA milestones.
• Collaborates with Patient Engagement to define and develop the core strategic need for patients in the relevant TA.
• Develops and executes strategic audience driven communications initiatives, aligned to business objectives.
• Applies measurement and KPIs for key programs in alignment with global C&E framework. Implements PESO assessment model consistently for all key programs.
• Manages agencies and budgets as needed, tracks progress, ensures deadlines are met, and ensures quality and compliance in C&E activities.

Essential Requirements :
• A patient focused mindset
• Business understanding: strong business acumen with Communications responsibilities either within or external to Novartis
• Be a collaborative worker, being able to work independently and through others to deliver outcomes
• Strong project management and organisational skills
• Knowledge of the media and patient engagement/advocacy environment as well as good knowledge of the regulatory and reimbursement environment
• Bachelor Degree (e.g. BSc) / University Diploma or equivalent Operations management and execution, cross cultural experience, project management
• Strong leadership, have strong interpersonal skills, project and operational excellence, digital & tech savvy, continuous learning approach
• Role model for NVS values and behaviors
• Developing concise and clear messaging that drives engagement & behavioural change
• Experience within communications and/ or patient engagement (approx 3-4 years experience) with skills and experience including: Channel utilization, Creative writing for various channels, Storytelling, media relations, visual communication, audience / stakeholder mapping and segmentation
